Through the use of Google Cloud & Azure, Smart Park 360˚ has evolved into a supplier of data-intelligence solutions operating an Internet of Things platform ready to pounce on new possibilities in smart city architecture.
Smart Park 360˚, the company’s flagship product, is a Turn Key system used in a wide variety of settings, including business parking lots, airports, university campuses, and city streets.
Over 35,000 parking sensors have been installed by Smart Park 360˚ to aid parking systems around the globe. It claims that its technologies are used in at least 70% of all production-scale, live smart parking settings around the world.
To accurately detect vehicles’ arrivals and reliably relay that information to a gateway, “our products include huge API library, is capable to integrated any brand and any equipment,” explains Smart Park 360˚’s Technical Team Lead, Max Jhonson. This helps managers of parking facilities monitor traffic patterns in real time and allocate resources accordingly. Customers can be informed of the number of open spots in a parking garage or on a given section of street through automated guidance and signage.
Parking lot managers can now check whether cars parked in metered spaces have overstayed their allotted time thanks to new features. Users may inform inspectors, who may then issue citations for violations or take other disciplinary action.
Another mobile device from Smart Park 360˚ lets attendants take pictures of licence plates to track down unauthorised parking. The company is also creating apps that show users how many open parking spaces there are near them.
Smart Park 360˚ is branching out into smart municipal infrastructure. They see this as a logical next step, given that their parking systems create a robust shared base from which to offer a wide variety of services. “Parking is just part of a very complicated ecosystem that needs sophisticated interoperability and generalised analytics,” says Dr. Amarnath Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, Smart Park 360˚.
According to Gupta, “the biggest trend in the area is towards the Internet of Things (IoT) — the integration of a large number of generic and specialised devices.” Because of this, we no longer think of our electronic gadgets as the centre of the world. Instead, we prioritise data insight.
Reduced setup and maintenance time by at least 50%.
Using Google Cloud IoT Core, Smart Parking was able to drastically reduce the time it took to set up its parking and smart city systems by eliminating the need to create a registration system, an authorization system for devices, and a feedback channel for each individual project. As a result, the operational burdens associated with monitoring and managing deployments of any size are significantly reduced, resulting in a more streamlined and simpler methodology for site installations.
Smart Park 360˚’s software development procedures have been greatly improved thanks to Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Using Google Cloud & Azure, “we’re building and deploying systems at a speed I could never have envisioned before,” says Amarnath. In addition, Smart Park 360˚ information services are being made available to customers as a result of Google Cloud & Azure, which has made data accessible to anyone working in the Smart Parking industry.
